Compare the Cover and the Title Page

Compare the image on the cover of the book with that of the title page. Are these the same people? How are they different? What do you think they are doing on the title page?

Totem Traits

As you read through the book, document the description of each of the animals. With students, create a chart to capture each animal’s characteristics. (Chart headings can be “Animal,” “Feeling” and “Character Trait.”)
