Africville is about home in many ways. In the story, the Africville that the young girl visits is much different than it was many years ago. We don’t know if she has ever been there before, yet it still seems like a place where she feels at home. Ask students what makes the place feel like home to the girl? What tells us that this is a place she is glad to be in?
