Book Description
Boogy & Tee and Twinkle & Hew is a lyrical picture book inspired by Edward Lear’s ‘The Owl and the Pussy-Cat.’ Two pairs of characters set sail for very different reasons. Boogy and Tee travel in a luxurious turquoise yacht for a holiday, while Twinkle and Hew leave in a small fishing dory hoping to catch food. As calm seas become a dangerous storm, the two boats experience the same weather in very different ways. Later, Boogy becomes distracted by the beauty of the stars and the yacht strikes a rock, reminding readers that unexpected challenges can happen to anyone. Through rhyme, repetition and expressive illustrations, the story encourages empathy, resilience, fairness and thoughtful reflection.
